Our Story

who are we?

Paulie & Friends is an extremely welcoming, all-female surf community based in the heart of Noosa, Queensland.

Paulie, the founder of the group says, “I always felt intimidated surfing alone and then I realised if I’m feeling like this other women are too. So I thought how can we fix this?” that’s when Paulie & Friends was created.

Growing up in the country herself, Paulie realises how hard it is to learn or to progress in surfing and to meet like minded people, that’s why we’re all about community and empowering women in the surf by encouraging each other to learn and have fun together.

However, we do believe it is extremely important to be able to take care of yourself in the water, have a strong understanding of surf etiquette and know your limits in the swell. Therefore we highly recommend beginners to do a small group session with one of our professional surf coaches before coming to the beach to surf unsupervised and be around other surfers. Safety is everything!

So please take this as your offical invite to come join us. All women of any age or ability, from anywhere on or around the coast to join us for a surf, paddle or laugh. Our community contains women from all walks of life who want connection and have a love for surfing. There are artists, naturopaths, lawyers, pilots, students, business owners and the list goes on.

We are also big nature lovers and all about living sustainably. We hope that, through this club, we cannot only build a supportive community of women surfers, but reduce our impact on the planet we love too.
